Staging Your Home

Staging or preparing your home for resale will help to reduce the time it spends on the market.  You can wow buyers and save yourself money by preparing your home before putting it on the market.  It is a proven fact that staged homes sell faster and at higher sales prices than non-staged homes. For best results hire an Accredited Staging Professional to assist you.

Tips on staging:

  • Work your way from the outside in and start with what visitors will see first
  • Keep landscaping looking fresh and well cut. Add mulch and some flowers if possible. Remove any debris from the yard.
  • Keep sidewalk, driveway, and walkway to front door clean. Pressure wash if needed.
  • Make sure paint on interior and exterior walls and doors looks crisp and fresh. Repair any rotten wood. If you have wild colors, re-paint.
  • Decorate and organize your home with buyers in mind. Try to de-personalize your home. Make it appeal to the masses.
  • Alleviate rooms of excess furniture that take up too much space. Remove old or worn out furniture. Less is More!
  • Decrease clutter caused by everyday living to increase the perceived size of rooms and storage space. Rule of thumb- pack up at least of all your nick-knacks, collectables, decorator items, and small kitchen appliances.
  • Maintain patio, deck, pool, backyard, etc. These are big selling points to your home so showcase them!
  •  Clear off kitchen and bathroom counters.
  •  Get rid of any bad odors!
  •  Clean the windows, baseboards and floors.
  •  Get rid of any cobwebs, clean your a/c vents and returns if needed. Change the air filter.
  •   Make sure you have adequate lighting. Heavy drapes should be removed. Think light and bright!
